80 years ago, Europe lay in ruins. Out of the rubble, an idea took hold: a united Europe, a Europe of peace. By uniting their coal and steel production, six countries began turning that dream into reality. Over the years, more countries joined and the cooperation intensified. But that dream cannot be taken for granted. It requires constant work – today more than ever.
