On 29 August 2025 European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen travelled to Finland where she held a press conference with Finnish Prime Minister, Petteri Orpo.
Commission President’s trip to Finland is part of the mission to the frontline member states of the EU, thus to those countries which are immediately affected by the Russian war on Ukraine. The mission focuses on vital security matters and defence.
