"Without the ingredients, we would be nothing."

Author and restaurateur Asma Khan says success on the food scene shouldn’t mean putting chefs on a pedestal, but instead recognizing the people who make every meal possible.

Joining us in Dalian, China for #AMNC26, the founder of Darjeeling Express discussed how she wants her own journey to inspire hope in others – from starting as a Muslim immigrant in her forties to creating one of London’s most celebrated restaurants.

Today, she’s calling for greater recognition of farmers, and emphasises the importance of the healthy soils and food systems which are vital for making nutritious, high-quality food accessible to everyone.
