Swiss company Sun-Ways lays #solar panels in the space between train tracks. If rolled out across Switzerland’s entire 5,200km rail network, Sun-Ways says, these panels could supply a percentage of the country’s electricity, without leaving any visual or environmental footprint. Here’s how it works.
01:39 – Beaming sunlight at night:
A company is developing satellites with ‘giant mirrors’ designed to reflect sunlight back to specific locations on Earth after dark. Reflect Orbital says the technology could support solar farms, emergency response and agriculture. But reflecting sunlight into the night sky could also affect astronomy, wildlife, aviation and access to naturally dark skies.

05:49 – Closing women’s health gap:
Just 6% of private #healthcare funding goes towards women’s health, and across multiple diseases affecting both sexes, only 3% of studies look at how those diseases affect women. As a result, women are diagnosed late for more than 700 conditions – and spend 25% more of their lives in poorer health than men, a study by the World Economic Forum and McKinsey found.
