2:11 AI poses bigger job risks for women – 1 in 4 jobs around the world are threatened by Generative AI. Globally, 4.7% of jobs held by women are at the highest level of risk from AI, compared with just 2.4% of jobs held by men. But why are jobs held by women more under threat?

5:00 Alexandria faces climate challenge – Climate change is fuelling sea-level rise around the world and the Mediterranean is rising faster than the average. Alexandria’s sandy coastline is receding by 3.5 metres every year as a result and is the most vulnerable coastal zone in the whole Mediterranean basin, according to a recent report.

6:49 UN pauses global deep-sea mining – The UN’s International Seabed Authority (ISA) is discussing how deep-sea mining can be carried out sustainably and equitably with the benefits shared by all nations alike. Until then, the ISA has delayed deep-sea mining at commercial scale.
