This week’s top stories of the week include:

00:12 – Ocean expedition finds 31 species in 2 weeks:
A research mission set out from Brazil to explore the ocean’s ‘twilight zone’. Plunging from 200 to 1,000 metres deep, this is the largest #habitat on Earth and is estimated to contain 90% of the global biosphere. Researchers on the Schmidt Ocean Institute vessel brought a groundbreaking microscope called the Squid, which uses lasers to scan living creatures – even single-celled ones.

01.55 – Climate change is a health emergency:
Iceland’s former prime minister Katrín Jakobsdóttir now chairs the Pan-European Commission on Climate and Health. Here, she explains how climate change is taking a toll on food and water security, and argues that the duty of political leaders to those they serve means the climate must become a priority.

04.38 – Airport Crisis Management: From Climate to War:
Airports Council International expects 10 billion passengers to fly in 2026. So how do airports keep passengers safe, informed and on track amid these shocks?
