The European Commission has shared preliminary findings under the Digital Services Act (DSA) concerning TikTok’s design features.
The investigation focuses on potentially addictive elements, particularly their impact on children and young users, and whether they comply with EU rules on online safety, transparency, and risk mitigation.
The Digital Services Act (DSA) gives EU citizens more control online: appeal content removals, report illegal material, protect minors, and see ads clearly, showing who placed them and why you’re seeing them.

Europe and India are deepening a partnership that reaches far beyond trade.
It brings together nearly 2 billion people, strengthens economic ties worth €180 billion a year, and cuts costs for European businesses by around €4 billion annually.
But the impact goes further creating more opportunities for jobs, study, innovation, and cultural exchange, as well as stronger cooperation between the world’s two largest democracies.
This partnership has a long history.
On January 29, the Commission presented the first European Asylum and Migration Management Strategy. It sets out the EU’s political objectives on asylum and migration and will serve as a compass with concrete priorities for the next five years. On top of that, the Commission also adopted its first-ever EU Visa Strategy, setting out a framework for a visa policy that advances the EU’s long-term interests, and making visa policy more strategic and better equipped to respond to growing mobility, regional instability, and geopolitical competition.

The EU–India trade agreement creates the world’s biggest free trade zone, covering around 25% of global GDP. It removes trade barriers, opens new export opportunities, and strengthens Europe’s economic security by diversifying supply chains.
On 26 January 2026, President Ursula von der Leyen will participate in the EU-India Summit. Negotiations for a free trade agreement have reached the final stage and that, if concluded, would create a market of 2 billion people, cutting €4 billion in annual tariffs for exporters of all sizes, and securing supplies of crucial materials and products.
Similarly, European leaders are expected to conclude a Security and Defence Partnership to expand cooperation in the defence industry, maritime security, secure connectivity and space.

Over one million Ukrainians are without electricity, water and heating in freezing temperatures following relentless Russian strikes on energy infrastructure. The EU will not let Russia freeze Ukraine and will continue helping Ukrainians get through this winter.
