Although the motion didn’t succeed, it started a wider debate on how people access information about what happens in the Chamber. ℹ️
Microphones have been permanently broadcasting in the Commons since 3 April 1978. The first time they were used live was to broadcast Oral Questions to the Secretary of State for Wales 🏴
