Services are the most dynamic segment of world trade and present important development opportunities. However, many developing economies still lag in terms of participation in services trade. Services trade can be complex and realizing its growth potential can be challenging.
The Trade in Services for Development Initiative, launched at the Public Forum in September 2024, is a joint capacity building and technical assistance effort of the WTO Secretariat and the World Bank aimed at helping developing economies better leverage trade in services for development.
A conference on 3-4 December will present the new capacity building tools developed or expanded this year under the initiative.
