The internet just changed and most people have no idea.
The EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) is now in force, forcing platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and AliExpress to play by new rules or face fines of up to 6% of their global revenue.
Here’s what this means for you:
You can turn off personalised recommendations and just see posts in chronological order
Ads must be clearly labelled: no more hidden targeting using sensitive data.
No more fake sellers hiding behind anonymity: marketplaces must verify who’s selling to you.
Dark patterns and addictive designs are banned: no more tricks designed to make you click "Yes" by mistake.
This is not a proposal it’s already happening.
