Google has been fined €890 million by the European Commission for breaching the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA).
The Commission found that Google favoured its own services in Search and restricted app developers from offering users cheaper alternatives through Google Play.
The message is clear: digital markets must stay fair, competitive and open, giving businesses more opportunities and consumers more choice.
