Last week, 34 newly certified Public Safety Bomb Technicians from local, state, and federal agencies joined the ranks of America’s Bomb Squad after completing the Hazardous Devices School Certification Course. Over six intensive weeks, these graduates trained in electronics, explosives, demolition procedures, personal protective equipment, threat assessment, diagnostics, arming and firing systems, render-safe techniques, manual access, disablement, robotics, and other advanced subjects.
These professionals now stand ready to support their teams and join the community of 3,000 bomb technicians nationwide. They will endeavor to protect the communities they serve and embrace the bomb technician ethos: “Here am I. Send me."
