On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division hosted a Ceremony of Remembrance. This solemn ceremony took place at the division’s 9/11 memorial, which includes a 22-foot steel box column recovered from one of the Twin Towers. It is accompanied by a 6-foot-tall granite monolith, engraved with a synopsis of the events of 9/11, representing the South Tower. The concrete benches and landscaping represent the surrounding buildings and were strategically placed in relation to the New York streetscape.
